Strong team to face Zimbabwe

National rugby coach John Williams has selected 12 of Namibia’s foreign-based players for their World Cup qualifying encounter against Zimbabwe in Windhoek on August 2.

Speaking at a press conference at the Namibia Rugby Union’s (NRU’s) headquarters on Wednesday morning, Williams said that it was a do-or-die match that Namibia had to win.

The 2008 commemorative stamps of the 2008 Summer Olympics Games were launched by NamPost at the headquarters of the Namibia National Olympics Committee (NNOC) on Wednesday, 16 July 2008.

The special commemorative stamps were designed by acclaimed artist Helge Denker. Four new stamps and a First Day Cover were officially unveiled at the press conference.

Saintfiet reacts to Internet reports

New Brave Warriors coach Tom Saintfiet has reacted to reports that he was fired from his previous job in Finland, saying they were one-sided and not correct.

According to Internet reports, Saintfiet was fired after two months in charge at Finnish Premier League club Rovaniemen Palloseura ROPS, because the players were not happy with his coaching style.

Saintfiet told Namibia Sport that he was fired but it was not true that the players were not happy with his coaching....

Mlambo-Ngcuka to celebrate Madiba’s birthday in Qunu

Pretoria – Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka will join other dignitaries in celebrating former President Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday in Qunu, Eastern Cape.

Ms Mlambo-Ngcuka will join Madiba and his wife Graca Machel, who will also be celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary on Saturday.

The Deputy President said Madiba has been a true inspiration to her, to the country, its leaders, citizens and mostly the youth....

SA, Iran fortify bilateral relations

Pretoria – South Africa and Iran have strengthened their bilateral relations after Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs, Mohammad Reza Baqeri held talks with his counterpart Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Aziz Pahad on Thursday.
