Health service must be affordable for poor people

eThekwini - Minister of Health, Dr Manto Tshabalala-Msimang, has called on private healthcare stakeholders to make health services affordable and accessible to all South Africans.

According to the department, annual expenditure on private hospitals was R803 per medical scheme beneficiary in 1997, but this figure increased to R2 320 in 2005.

Medical scheme contributions also increased with contribution rates increasing...

Setbacks hit Brave Warriors’ preparations

The Brave Warriors’ preparations for the Cosafa Cup tournament suffered a setback when midfielder Oliver Risser and striker Pineas Jacob were ruled out due to injury.

Jacobs aggravated an old knee injury while training with the Brave Warriors, while Risser got injured during pre-season training with his German club Hannover.

Held under the auspices of the international cycling federation, UCI, this event is the pinnacle for junior cyclists from around the globe. Southern Province Hit by Food Shortage
