Moses preparing for Kobori fight

Namibia’s lightweight champion Paulus “The Hitman” Moses is continuing to prepare for his WBA Lightweight world title fight against Japan’s Yusuke Kobori.

Moses has kept up a tough training regime, which has included regular sparring sessions against the likes of Jason Naule and Ali Nuumbembe.

Moses’ promoter Nestor Tobias said that the title fight would now most probably only take place in October and that Tokyo would be the most likely venue.

Namibia to face SA in Inline Hockey World Cup qualifier

Namibia will take on South Africa in the first leg qualifier for the 2009 Inline Hockey World Championships in Swakopmund on Sunday, August 24.

The return leg will take place in Johannesburg the following weekend, on August 30.

The first game will be staged as part of the annual Coastal Pirates Tournament to be held from August 22-25 at the SFC Hall in Swakopmund.

Free Trade Area officially launched for SADC region

Johannesburg – The Southern African Development Community (SADC) member states officially launched a Free Trade Area (FTA) for the region at the weekend, ushering in a new era of economic integration.

Launched during the 28th SADC Summit, the agreement ushers in a new era of economic integration and rapid industrialisation of the sub-region through expanded trading opportunities.
