Veteran Moroka Swallows defender George Hummel has been recalled to the Brave Warriors squad in preparation for the Cosafa Cup competition which starts in Mpumalanga, South Africa on July 19.
Hummel last played for Namibia in a friendly match against Zambia in June 2007, but then requested to be omitted from the squad after differences with the NFA. According to a source his flight ticket to Namibia for the match was not reimbursed by the NFA, which prompted him to resign from the squad.

George Hummel has been recalled to the Namibian squad for the Cosafa Cup competition in Mpumalanga from July 19 to August 3, 2008.
At a press conference at Soccer House on Monday, the NFA’s spokesperson Beau Kauta however said that Hummel was committed to play for Namibia again.
“We contacted George to ask him about his position and he indicated that he was committed to play for Namibia again,” he said.

Jomo Cosmos goalkeeper Abisai Shiningayamwe is recalled to the squad for the first time since the African Cup of Nations in Ghana, while Cape-based defender Maleagi Ngarizemo is recalled after an absence of more than a year.
