Brave Warriors players Costa Khaiseb, Ivan Namaseb and Hartman Toromba are facing another epic task of helping their South African clubs to gain promotion to the top-flight South African Premier Soccer League (PSL). The trio will be returning from national duty with the Brave Warriors, who lost 4-0 to Guinea in Conakry last Sunday.

Khaiseb and Namaseb, who plays for FC AK in the National First Division (NFD), will lock horns with Maritzburg United in the NFD Play-offs Final today (Wednesday) at the Eldorado Stadium. The two sides are again scheduled to meet in the return leg of the play-offs at the Harry Gwala Stadium this Sunday.
FC AK, who were embroiled in a match-fixing scandal were initially suspended from taking part in the play-offs and demoted to the third tier of South African football, but a recent arbitration ruling reinstated their place in the play-offs.
The arbitrator upheld the guilty verdict against FC AK, while they will not have any points deducted. Other Namibians on the books of FC AK are Freedom Puriza and Arnold Subeb. Rudi Louw and Dumisa Jantze, who played for FC AK last season, have reportedly left the club for greener pastures.
The winner of the NFD Final play-offs will automatically gain promotion to the PSL. The losing finalist will join the other three teams in the play-offs for the remaining berth in the PSL.
The three teams are Toromba’s Black Leopards, Bay United and Dynamos, who finished as runners up to FC AK in the Inland Stream. Leopards finished the 2007/08 season in position with 29 points, while Bay United came second from the Coastal Stream behind eventual winners Maritzburg United.
