Namibia are raring to go for their three-day SAA Challenge match against Western Province which starts at the Wanderers field on Thursday.

Ireland’s cricket captain William Porterfield said that the variation in their team could be the key to defeating Namibia, according to an International Cricket Council (ICC) press release.

A new cricket magazine, Cover Point, has recently been established which will focus on the Associate member countries of the International Cricket Council.

Namibia is an associate member along with other countries like Scotland, Canada, Bermuda, the United Arab Emirates, Holland and Ireland, whom they will play in an ICC Intercontinental Cup match starting on Friday.

Namibia win U17 regional African title

Namibia’s national U17 cricket team won the ICC Africa Central and Southern Region U17 tournament in Benoni, South Africa on September 1, after beating Zambia in the final.

In a closely contested final, Namibia prevailed to win the match by only 14 runs.

Namibia were all out for 159 runs with Andrew Forrest top scoring with 50 runs.

Zambia were then dismissed for 145 runs, with Wian van Vuuren taking 4/30 which also won him the man of the match award....
