Setbacks hit Brave Warriors’ preparations

The Brave Warriors’ preparations for the Cosafa Cup tournament suffered a setback when midfielder Oliver Risser and striker Pineas Jacob were ruled out due to injury.

Jacobs aggravated an old knee injury while training with the Brave Warriors, while Risser got injured during pre-season training with his German club Hannover.

Striker Muna Katupose who attended training on Tuesday morning, subsequently requested to be omitted after being invited to attend a Cosafa Cup...

Namibia to compete at Cycling Junior World Championships

For the first time ever, Namibia will have representation at the Junior World Championships for Road Cycling. Held under the auspices of the international cycling federation, UCI, this event is the pinnacle for junior cyclists from around the globe. Normally held in countries with a strong cycling culture, the event takes place in Cape Town, South Africa, as part of the UCI’s efforts to globalize cycling.

Tommy Gous wins Wesbank Trophy

Many fans were delighted by the fact that finally another race would be held at the Gallina Moto Cross Park, and so they came in droves.

In the Kings’ Class, the Open/125cc Class, we could witness the expected win by Tommy Gous, but Brannigan Wise unexpectedly made it a really tough race for him. Especially in the Wesbank King of the Dirt race the duel between those two was noteworthy. Kai Pritzen, who came third, kept up quite nicely as well....

Namibian women win bronze in Inline Hockey

The Namibian women’s Inline Hockey team won the bronze medal in the World Team Cup in Dusseldorf, Germany on Saturday when they beat Japan 4-1 in the third place play-off.

Namibia played its best match at the tournament and dominated the match from the start.

Hummel recalled for Brave Warriors

Veteran Moroka Swallows defender George Hummel has been recalled to the Brave Warriors squad in preparation for the Cosafa Cup competition which starts in Mpumalanga, South Africa on July 19.

Hummel last played for Namibia in a friendly match against Zambia in June 2007, but then requested to be omitted from the squad after differences with the NFA. According to a source his flight ticket to Namibia for the match was not reimbursed by the NFA, which prompted him to resign from the...
