| Sponsor's Message (I wonder what our own power utility and all the REDS will start charging once all the extras have been added on? 25%+?) Eskom was granted a 13.3 percent increase by the National Energy Regulator of SA on Wednesday. This is in addition to the 14.2 percent increase already granted in December. The decision by the Nersa subcommittee came after Eskom requested a 53 percent tariff increase at public hearings last month. Nersa’s six-member subcommittee had to take into account more than 40 oral and 300 written submissions it had received at the hearings before making a decision. Nersa has not allowed Eskom to backdate the increase to April, and has advised that tariffs should be increased from the beginning of July instead. The regulator said it supports the smoothing of tariffs and sees tariff hikes of 20-25% per annum over the next three years. I-Net Bridge Last edited by Oneword; 18th June 2008 at 08:18 PM.
