| I've said it before: Poverty does not distinguish between the colour of people's skins. With the playing field more level now, it was bound to happen that people who were disadvantaged, disregarded and disrespected for centuries would now have their day. It comes at a cost. But where it breaks laws against racial discrimination that has to be challendged vigorously. Reverse racism is as bad as the racism and job reservation practised by the Nationalists. As far as crime goes: It's got to change, and quickly. There remains a huge crisis. The ANC government does indeed not act or behave like it is on top of the crime wave that is still sweeping the nation. Crime is now seriously undermining the medium- to long-term success of the new South Africa. And it is really as bad as all the stories go, whether apologists and nay-saysers would like to believe it or not.
