What is the current policy regarding duty-free shop(s) at the airport that you refer to, mindfractory?

The duty-free shop at the airport is, as far as I know, a concession that is renewable every so often. Then a tender is called.

I must add, though, that the few times I have browsed through the offerings, I have not noticed any real discounts - at least for Namibians. Yes, I know you can claim back your VAT if you are outward bound, but, to my mind, the concession holders for the past years have made it little more than a honey trap for the unwary tourist - and, of course, a money spinner for them!.

Policy? Duty free in Namibia? Namibia and policies!? I personally think certain issues are so deeply rooted, is no policies but rather trade strategies ( beter known as trade scams ).

Just wait till the bomb explode over this issue, I do not like to sell the chickens before they hedge, it will be coming home to roost.

This is just another spectacular case over millions of N$ which I would like to follow and see how exploiting opportunities make some people move to the top. Its nice to view the Namibian corridors of power illustrating their muscle power.

They have been a rip-off from the first to the last!! Duty-free?? My auntie!! They made millions out of those that believed they would get it cheaper!!!!!!!!!
