So the monopoly in the Telecommunications arena has been reversed. No opinions, news public feedback or polls pertaining this? Come on Namibia, the choice has been given back to the public, lets deliberate!

juikk, don't get me wrong, but the calls on Cell1 are only cheap between Cell1 and Cell1. I am under the most sincere impression that calls to other phones are on par with or higher than the competition. And, from what I have seen on Switch's sales staff, they do most definitely not inspire me.

Hung out a hook - suitably baited - and the lady flatly ignored this. And I was speaking the official language PLUS a vernacular one (her HOME language, too)!

Telecom is just pleased that they don't have to wire up those places where they know they couldn't make a profit. They don't care much about anything else .....

Yes, logically campaigns are geared to be cheaper On net, it makes perfect business sense, but aren't the rest of them doing it the same way, cheaper Onnet? I noticed though that rates to the other networks are based on flat prices, irrespective if of whether MTC, Switch or Telecom. A further benefit is also the absence of peak, off peak and off off peak rates, which makes the experience simpler for the end user. I agree that Switch seem not to be on equal footin with Cellone and MTC. What I have further noticed also is that MTC seem to copy every single innitiative, in terms of campaigns, that Cellone is engaging in, e.g. the newly launched every day is a Friday campaign(free sms as of 19h00). I 'd say Cellone in the short period of time has the potential to be the trendsetters, and if MTC keep copying them, they are proving this point that everyone else follows. Though I have to also admit that MTC's response reflex to competition seem healthy thus far.

Healthy competition makes our cents further .... and that, to my mind, is always good news!

Thanks, juikk. Interesting topic. I just wonder what the PR people of the companies concerned have to say? Come on, Rejoice .......

Thumbs up Re: MTC, Cellone, Switch,,,etc.

Guys...Switch is not a mobile operator...they are Portable Land Line Operator...(PLLO), Cell One brings in healthy competition...some off us were being ripped off by mtc all the years...why only now do mtc slash their prices...and why copy what others are doing...are their creative team sleeping...

but we like the competition as long as it does not harm the client...

Cool Re: MTC, Cellone, Switch,,,etc.

yes, makes me wonder, we've been such loyal customers and all they did was to rip us off all the time and now its like a ghost rising from a deep grave just to start with being copy cats
