NAMIBIA: Reservoirs continue to register inflow

The country's major water reservoirs continue to register significant inflow.

NamWater's latest dam basin survey puts the level of the Swakoppoort Dam at 100-comma-four per cent of capacity. Another reservoir spilling its banks is the Goreangab Dam outside the capital, which stands at 105-comma-two per cent.

The level of the Hardap Dam outside Mariental stands at 70-comma-eight per cent, while the Oanob Dam outside Rehoboth is 88-comma-two per cent full. Keetmanshoop's Naute Dam is at 89 per cent of its capacity, while the level of the Von Bach Dam near Okahandja stands at 90-comma-two per cent.

Other smaller dams which have recorded significant inflow include the Otjivero Silt Dam at 121-comma-five per cent, the Otjivero Main Dam at 66-comma-five per cent and the Friedenau Dam at 87-comma-nine per cent.
