Post Chicken Curry

Sponsor's Message
One of my favourites and very easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium-sized onion, sliced into rings
  • Oil
  • 5 ml (1 t) garlic paste
  • 5 ml (1 t) ginger paste
  • 15 ml (1 T) mixed masala
  • 15 ml (1 T) curry powder
  • 3 ripe jam tomatoes, mashed
  • 1 410g can tomato puree
  • 500 g chicken pieces, skinned and deboned
  • Curry leaves
  • 5 ml (1 t) fennel powder
  • 5 ml (1 t) garam masala
  • Fresh coriander leaves
Method
  1. Fry the onion in a little heated oil until tender
  2. Add the garlic and ginger pastes, and stir in the masala and curry powder
  3. Add the tomatoes and tomato puree
  4. Simmer for a few minutes until fragrant
  5. Add the chicken pieces and a few curry leaves and simmer slowly until the chicken is done and fragrant
  6. Stir in the fennel powder and garam masala towards the end of the cooking time and sprinkle the curry with fresh coriander leaves
  7. Serve with rotis or rice.

Default Curry

For those who love curries, etc.

Just had an e-mail from " Taal Indian Restaurant" . They now have fresh ingredients for all the lekker curries, etc. In Independence Ave. Speak to Alex at Apple Centre.

Hallo

Do they serve kasrut or Halaal in this Indian restaurant or do simply serve treif food?

This would be good to know.

Regards

Ariel

Smile Sond delicious to me.

Well this should be a run-away winner for the cold winter nights, specially when wash away with a mango lassie and some tasty jellie bee or nice ghulab jabs as a side dish. Is this a south Indian dish or the Delhi styled dish ... Bombay or Kashmiri style chicken curry is absolutely awesome.

Keep it up guys, this is brilliant.
