Default iPhone

Sponsor's Message
The first impression is specious. No other mobile phone possess well arranged appliance or operation system. All esential components of the iPhone - Telephone, Internet access, MP3-Player - are reachable at ones fingertips, as well as the commonly used or most frequent Applications: SMS, Calendar, Calculator, Clock and email. YouTube, Google Maps, Yahoo Stock Price and Weather have splash out on Apple Widgets. Each of these Applications are easily in scope of operation, and clear + straightforward. A bit of practice with scrolling is of course absolutly essential and required. In this way you avoid unintentional actions.

Beside Quadband-GSM rise the radio Data transmission EDGE and WLAN as regulation or provided by. Very good, with each Application, who access the Internet, become in the first instance astonishing quickly the pool of available information of WLAN Networks indicated. In the next pace or step, an EDGE connection developed at a maximum capacity of 220 Kbit/s, off course not so quick, like with HSDPA ( presently up to 3,6 Mbits/s). However, for a mobile phone it operates really speedy, jaunty, perky and briskly, in terms of Data transfer I must admit.

Over a period of time with the iPhone, with integrated iPod and with surfing, beyond his means in strenght, play of against the telephone function. Practically is the support of T-Mobile "Visual VoiceMail". IM in contrast is not possible on the iPhone and MMS does neither allow sending funtions. Language choices are also not supported. In email programm only Word and Excel Attachments are permited to look at, not to store or save. No contact information could be taken over from email and the contact list.

The Bluetooth function is a complete mockery or a farce so to say. It only allow iPhone to be recognise by other gadetry, devices, tackles, equipment or components. It self could not find any equipment to be connect, not even the head set. The Digital camera, only 2 Megapixel with a Video function failure.

The iPhone is fascinating, intriguingly and challenging as a Multimedia mobile phone, regrettably and unfortunately weak in telephone functions.

Just for the h... of it: Get the iPhone working with ANY ISP

- Get a Windows machine with administrator rights. Windows running inside Parallels doesn’t work, as the Windows iTunes will not see the iPhone’s USB connection.

- Install iTunes 7.3.0.54. Get it from Apple. (mirror) (via Softzilla :: iTunes 7.3.0.54)

- Install UltraEdit 32.

- Download Phone Activation Server v1.0. (mirror)

- Using notepad or any other text editor, edit the file “c:\ windows\ system32\ drivers\ etc\ hosts” and add the following line:

127.0.0.1 albert.apple.com

- Backup the file iTunes.exe on C:\Program Files\iTunes.

- Edit iTunes.exe using UltraEdit32. Press CTRL-G, enter “2048912“, write “33 C0 C3“. Then Offset 257074, enter “28“. Finally offset “257013“, enter “33 C9 B1“. Save the file and close UltraEdit32.

- Make sure nothing is running and using the port 80. (e.g. no HTTP server running)

- Start the Phone Activation Server v1.0 application.

- Plug the iPhone and start iTunes.

- iPhone will activate after some seconds and will show some message like “Invalid SIM card”. Slide it to continue.

- Have Fun!

Thanks Oneworld,

You miss the point m8, I did not ask for a guru to over right a Win programm or to change my ISP, because I like to use my current MSISDN if you know what I mean.

The only thing what I'm ainming at is even this iPone, which is suppose to be the mellenium way of communicating tool, have its pro's and cons.

Thanks for the cracking or hacking tips, but I have no fun in explaining to the CIA, why I land in their gulleys and sneeking around, how many agents work at JFK Apt on new years eve and why they have change the current Rota that p*ss off most of us and why Scalix is worse then Citrix or why did they take the entire Google operations over.

Any rate, thanks again m8 , I think our friend phelakuti need some serious advice in Holland, near Aus. I mean I do not give his RV for the sake of many things.
