| Sponsor's Message I am worried about the tendency now appearing more often in using artists not worth their salt in ads/campaigns for the common good of the society, e.g. Aids, domestic and violence against women and children, etc. on our national TV. If at all true, that rumors about the Dogg for instance, having impragnated a junior high school girl, it is counter effective to use such and artist to be 'lecturing' the Namibians or cautioning about HIV/Aids for istance, notwithstanding the fact that his public utterances are far from being examplery(if true, he would have committed statutory rape). It is on the other hand not a bad idea to use someone like Gazza for school campaigns,Rizzy for clothing etc. Artists like Dogg should rather remain with products like alchol, etc,.Is it common sense or am I concerned about nothing?It could send a wrong message to our children if we idolise the wrong behavior, as basically we would be saying we condone the type of thing that such Artist stand for. |

| Our children - like their parents when THEY were young - have and will continue to idolise the wrong idols. Mostly because the parents disapprove and secondly because the "good"idols seem soooo boring! |

| I think Pietro has hit the nail on the head! Our commercial sector is not all that concerned with the reputation of artists either; they are looking for a person who commands instant recognition with as many of their target group as possible. Then they grab him, tell him what to say and wait for the money to come rilling in ............ It's like getting Zuma to sell condoms ..... or showers! |

| Follow the message in the advert, but not what the model in the advert do. as in Oshiwambo, they say" Iitaleni sho ta yemulombwele ndele ina mulandula oondjila dhawo" Meaning, may the person e.g. like the Dogg is used because of his popularity just to catch the full attention of the viewers and then they get the message. Trying to say that like nowadays young people are most just fans of omshashoo or Gazza and if u want to trap them just use the two the will pay attention and at the end the get the message. Get me well I am no saying this guys are good model that is just an example. |
