| Worldcup soccer tickets will be very exspensive. Only a hand few will be able to get there hands on it. Statistics proof it, capacity of 2006 stadium in Berlin [Olympiastadion - Capacity: 74,220] A global audience of well over a billion were set to follow the 2006 FIFA World Cup Final live on TV. FIFA World Cup Stadium Hanover Capacity: 44,652 FIFA World Cup Stadium Gelsenkirchen Capacity: 53,804 FIFA World Cup Stadium Dortmund also known as Bundesliga Opera House. Capacity: 65,982 Zentralstadion, Leipzig Capacity: 44,199 FIFA World Cup Stadium Cologne Capacity: 46,120 FIFA World Cup Stadium Frankfurt Capacity: 48,132 Fritz-Walter-Stadion, Kaiserslautern Capacity: 43.450 Frankenstadion, Nuremberg Capacity: 41,926 Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion, Stuttgart Capacity: 53,200 FIFA World Cup Stadium Munich Capacity: 66,016 This were some of the criteria that were used to buy a ticket. The questionnaire at beginning of sales on 1 Feb. 2006 required the following data: First and last name Postal address: Street, number, place and country (postal code were optional) Date of birth Nationality Number of ID-card or passport Telephone number (optional) Fan of which national team (here one could state "neutral") E-mail address (should be optional, according to RP Darmstadt, but turned out to be a requirement!) Matche(s) applied for, price-category of ticket(s) Bank- or credit card data Additional applications in the name of other people Contrary to former information a fax number were no longer required. The relevant data protection authorities have disclaimed this. The speaker of the Federal Data Protection Officer, Peter Buettgen, said towards ddp that "the last four digits [of the passport number] will be absolutely sufficient" – so there is still talk of storing of passport numbers. Heightened scepticism in this point is in order, because: Already about asking the passport number through the internet there has been a shower of criticism. Renate Hillenbrand-Beck from the Regional Presidency of Darmstadt wrote about this on 25 January 2005: "The gathering of complete passport numbers as requested by security authorities is yet accompanied by a question mark. About this the Federal Data Protection Officer will seek consultations with the Federal Ministry of the Interior." But in the questionnaire that was launched on February 1 the passport number is not at all indicated with a question mark but with an *asterisk* for "required information." I trust this will meet your curiousity ... and good luck with getting a ticket to one of the matches ![]() |

| Lovely facts! I don't care how many people can be squeezed into some German stadium. I am much more concerned whether one of the SA stadiums (" stadia", if you care) will have a special seat marked "Oneword" - were I able to get a ticket. But, then, refer to my my previous comment on this issue. I am absolutely certain that my favourite seat in front of my own TV will be available if and when and for whatever time I may require it ........... |
