Thumbs up Africa Cup of Nations!

THE Shebeen would like to wish the Brave Warriors the best of luck when they travel to Ghana today for the Africa Cup of Nations!

It is the second time that the Brave Warriors will compete in the prestigious continental competition, which involves Africa's top football nations. The Brave Warriros find themselves in a very tough qualifying group which includes Ghana, 2004 champion Morocco and former semi-finalists Guinea. The team is making just their second appearance at African football's showpiece and their squad includes just three players who ply their trade in Europe. Namibia are in Group A and begin their campaign against Morocco on 21 January before games against Guinea and hosts Ghana.

Namibia squad:
  • Goalkeepers
    • Athiel Mbaha (Orlando Pirates)
    • Abisia Shiningayamwe (Jomo Cosmos, South Africa)
    • Aphraim Tjihonge (Black Leopards, South Africa)
  • Defenders:
    • Michael Pienaar (Ramblers)
    • Franklin April (Civics)
    • Gottlieb Nakuta (Blue Waters)
    • Richard Gariseb (Wits University, South Africa)
    • Hartman Toromba (Black Leopards, South Africa)
    • Jeremiah Baisako (Ramblers)
    • Maleagi Ngarizemo (FC Cape Town, South Africa).
  • Midfielders:
    • Quinton Jacobs (Bryne FC, Norway)
    • Brian Brendell (Civics)
    • Abraham Shatimuene (Premeiro de Agosto, Angola)
    • Jamunovandu Ngatjizeko (Civics)
    • Oliver Risser (SC Bonner, Germany)
    • Sydney Plaatjies (Jomo Cosmos, South Africa)
    • Wycliff Kambonde (Jomo Cosmos, South Africa)
    • Collin Benjamin (Hamburg SV, Germany).
  • Strikers:
    • Muna Katupose (Oshakati City)
    • Levis Meraai Swartbooi (Premeiro de Agosto, Angola)
    • Rudolf Bester (Eleven Arrows)
    • Jabob Pineas (Ramblers)
    • Lazarus Kaimbi (Jomo Cosmos, South Africa)

  • GO WARRIORS, GO!
